The Carolia Go Green Project encourages the children to keep their villages and water ways clean, recycle plastics in their communities and plant trees and flowers.
The children meet every weekend at Bale Mitch Gillam in Seraya and from there they collect rubbish from the streets and save all recyclable plastics for John’s Farm and the BGM Greenhouse. The plastic is used for seedlings and growing plants in.
Go Green operates in several areas and involves children from the district and also those in Carolia’s Education Sponsorship Program.
Plans are underway for regular Go Green events in Karangasem, where Bambang, his volunteers and many of Carolia’s children will focus on raising community awareness on environmental issues and promoting “Go Green” initiatives to individuals, businesses and communities.
