Ayu Kertiani joined The Carolia Charity’s sponsorship program when she was in primary school. Her mother works in flower field picking flowers and her father is an unskilled labourer. Ayu Kertiani also used to work as a flower picker for after school and on Sundays to help her family.
After finishing Senior High School Kertiani worked in a restaurant in Kuta as a waitress for two years and then she undertook a spa course. After that she went to Russia as a spa therapist to work for 1 year and then Turkey to work for another year before returning to Bali.
Ayu is married with 1 child and now works as a spa therapist in Bali.
