In 2013 with support from a fundraising initiative by Mitch Gillam Project, Carolia built Bale Mitch Gillam, a community centre in Seraya.
The centre offers free English, computer and traditional Balinese dance lessons to children in the local community.
The centre also has a sewing centre, dispenses basic first aid & medical supplies and offers those children who have no running water in their villages an opportunity to wash before school each day.
Bale Mitch Gillam is also a centre for social activities and many of our other programs such as Go Green, medical checkups run by Bali Kids, Red Cross Blood Bank drives, party days for the community’s children etc.
Bajing is the manager of the community centre, supervising all activities there and also in the hydroponic greenhouse at the rear of the building.
Bajing also oversees the building of houses in our “Project Seraya” house build program and his duties also include accompanying all sponsors of children and/or house builds in the district on visits to their families when they are in Bali.
